About me and my search for guys in the same spot…

By coryphaena

I have a boy who turned 3 in March, and we had a girl August 20, 2008. I live in the Park Circle Area of North Charleston and I will turn 41 years old in a few weeks. If you’re a stay at home dad and are going nuts trying to keep you kid(s) busy, post here by using the ‘comments’ link below, and let’s see if we can work out – can’t believe I’m saying it – a play date or something. I can be reached via email but am going to keep my address of this blog for now.

I am a stay at home dad. I have tried to join several stay at home mom groups but I am not even slightly welcome. I did find a place to start a group for “our kind” (meetup.com) but haven’t had any luck yet recruiting others. My 3yo daughter is driving me crazy and wants kids her age to play with. When my 9yo son comes home from school, he has several friends that either come here to play or my son goes to their house. This usually results in 30 or so minutes of my daughter crying/screaming because she doesn’t have any friends to play with. It sure would be nice to find some kids for her to play with during the day!!!

I am a 38 year old Stay at home dad. I am in the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant. I have two girls one is 8 the other is 1. I would love to set-up a time to get the kids together.

I’m 30 and stay at home with my 15 month old however my 2 year old still goes to day care since she loves to play with other children. Often I have both on weekends while my fiance works.

OK, guys – that makes four of us so far. As soon as the weather gets a little nicer, let’s try to find a date that we can all meet and let the kids play and the dads (and wives/etc.) meet each other. If I get to it, I might try and start up a Facebook group for us.

Would you gentlemen consider letting a working dad into your group? My husband Ron (37) needs a group like this to help get the guy’s perspective on parenting, etc. of our two children, ages 7 and 2.

Hey I would like to say you are all doing great
Most men do not have a clue when it comes to childcare
Coming from a large family, I did not have that option as I was a babysitter for everyone.

My wife and I have 4 grown children and 2 granddaughters
We decided to do Childcare and consider each one our adopted grandchild

We enjoy staying active and have many outtings

We like going to The Library, Aquarium, Lowcountry Children Museum, Wannamaker, Music in Motion, and our favorite is Chuckie Chesse where the kids can run and play and can not get out

I would like to join your group, even though I am in Summerville

As for the post about the mommy groups. . . many times it is the few who ruin it for the many, however when it comes to men and children it is the many who would abuse the set up and only a few who would use it for what it is
I think it would be great to have a group of fathers, that would wlcome the women
